SYBREED Parts Ways With Bassist, Seeks Replacement

Switzerland's futuristic metal band SYBREED has announced the departure of bassist Burn. "After having spent several years roaming stages with us, he felt he wasn't able to carry on with the constant sacrifices that a musician's lifestyle implies (you know … having no job, no car, being broke, homeless and consume only low quality drugs)," the group writes in a press release. "Fortunately, our friendship with him remains preserved, since it's a decision we can but understand, and so as to finish in a good way, Burn will anyway participate in the U.S. tour beginning on July 17, and surely in a couple of shows in Europe until we find a new bass player."

SYBREED is currently seeking a replacement bassist. "We have already a small list of people in mind, but still, if you think you can handle the bass in SYBREED and if you want to try an audition, you can still contact Drop directly [at] the following address: [email protected]."

SYBREED's month-long U.S. tour alongside THREAT SIGNAL, THE AUTUMN OFFERING, and THE AGONIST will kick off on July 17 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

SYBREED's third album, "The Pulse Of Awakening", is due this fall via Listenable Records. The vocals and the drums for the folow-up to 2007's "Antares" were laid down at the SDF studios in Lausanne, while the guitar and bass were tracked at the Drone studio in Geneva. The CD was mixed by Rhys Fulber (FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, FEAR FACTORY, PARADISE LOST). The cover artwork was handled by Seth from SEPTICFLESH.

According to the band, "The Pulse Of Awakening" will feature such songs as "Nomenklatura", which is being described as "a groovy, technical and hypnotic piece of industrial metal"; "Electronegative", which is "equally technical but with an intense 'right-in-ya-face,' down-to-up-tempo pace"; and "Doomsday Party", which "sounds like the illegitimate progeny of EBM beats, synth-pop melodies and metal riffing."

SYBREED released its second album, "Antares", in the U.S. on August 15, 2008 via Koch Records. The U.S. version of the CD includes a previously unreleased song called "Plasmaterial" as a bonus track.
