SYSTEM OF A DOWN Bassist's Collaboration With WU-TANG CLAN's RZA To See Light Of Day
June 1, 2006According to a posting at SOADFans.com, SYSTEM OF A DOWN bassist Shavo Odadjian will be teaming up WU-TANG CLAN's RZA in early June to begin writing/recording a new collaborative album.
In an October 2005 interview with MTV.com, Odadjian said of the project, "[WU-TANG CLAN's] GZA's writing beats and all of the lyrics, RZA's writing beats and I'll be playing all the bass and writing most of the music. It's not written in stone, but we're talking about it. I want to get [SYSTEM frontman Serj Tankian] to play drums, maybe sing on some songs. We have a few ideas for songs and it's going to be really cool. It's going to be a really crazy album, but it's not going to be like WU-TANG or SYSTEM. It'll be wherever I'm at in my head and wherever they're at in their heads."
SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian told MTV.com last month that the band's headlining stint on this summer's Ozzfest will be the last time in a "a few years" that they be appearing onstage together under the SYSTEM banner.
