SYSTEM OF A DOWN Honored With GRAMMY For 'Best Hard Rock Performance'

SYSTEM OF A DOWN were honored with a honored with a Grammy in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category in the pre-telecast ceremony at the 48th annual Grammy Awards, which are being held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Wednesday night (Feb. 8).

SYSTEM OF A DOWN won for their "B.Y.O.B." single, which beat out the likes of AUDIOSLAVE ("Doesn't Remind Me"),NINE INCH NAILS ("The Hand That Feeds"),ROBERT PLANT ("Tin Pan Valley") and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE ("Little Sister").

The 48th Grammys are being awarded in a telecast on CBS beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN has yet to announce 2006 tour plans in support of last year's two album releases, "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize".
