TANKARD: Promoter Is To Blame For Russian Concert Cancellation
September 8, 2005Veteran German thrashers TANKARD have posted the following message on their official web site:
"To our fans in Russia: We are very very sorry to announce that we can´t play the shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg this weekend.
"Reason: Roxx, the promoter from Moscow, broke the contract! They were supposed to book and pay seven flights for us but never did. We found out ourselves yesterday by talking to the Aeroflot office here in Frankfurt after Roxx couldn't provide us with any informations regarding the flights. They didn't even answer the phone in the last days.
"Unfortunately we don't have the money to pay the flights ourselves. We are very angry about this cause everybody in TANKARD was taking two days off from work to play in Russia the first time ever and we even received our visas in time. If you are as pisssed as we are please do us a favour and let Roxx know ([email protected] and [email protected])! Our apologies again!"
TANKARD's most recent album, "Beast of Bourbon", was released in March 2004 through AFM Records. The follow-up to 2002's "B-Day" was recorded at Stage One studio in Bühne, Germany with producer Andy Classen and featured cover artwork by Sebastian Krüger, who had previously worked for the magazine Spiegel.
