TAPROOT To Begin Work On New CD

July 12, 2003

TAPROOT, out on the road for the final few shows in support of their latest album "Welcome" (Atlantic),are tentatively scheduled to begin writing material for their third full-length CD in the fall.

"Yeah, we'll be off to write music again," singer Stephen Richards told Chart Attack. "I can't wait for that because I'm excited to see where we're all at as musicians. We're looking forward to writing music outside of what 'Welcome' is. We don't want to follow it. . . It's time to get a bit more dynamic. We'll see what happens because it's still a bit of time away. We're looking at working on this new stuff come September and we really want to test ourselves, see what we can do, 'cause we have no set standard for writing music just yet. Maybe it'll become chemistry one day, but for now the doors are open [so] we'll just keep running through them."

TAPROOT's as-yet-untitled new album is tentatively due next summer.
