Teenage Brothers Win TYPE O NEGATIVE Guitar In SPV YouTube Contest

June 26, 2007

SPV Records has issued the following press release:

Over two months ago, SPV USA announced a contest which asked fans to submit homemade commercials for TYPE O NEGATIVE's new CD "Dead Again" and post them on their YouTube pages. After fans submitted their masterpieces, a winner was announced on June 20. This video shows how enthusiasm and creativity sometimes overpower professional filmmaking! There were some great runners-up (which are posted in a blog on Myspace.com/SPVUSA) but the winning commercial can be viewed at www.youtube.com/spvamerica.

So who are these guys with a slew of comedic amateur videos that have won over everyone at SPV? Two brothers from Rossville, Kansas named Cody and Nathan, ages 19 and 14. With only a year of video experience under their belts, they have a knack for comedy, which certainly comes across in their YouTube videos which can be seen at YouTube.com/crazywolf1.

Why did we pick Cody and Nathan's video as the winner of the autographed guitar contest? Our interpretation of their video was that the moment someone puts in TYPE O NEGATIVE's new CD "Dead Again" they become an instantly huge fan. As soon as the album starts playing, the boys are suddenly wearing TYPE O NEGATIVE shirts, and the room is covered in posters, flags, and memorabilia. And who's a better candidate to win an autographed guitar than brothers who exclaim that TYPE O NEGATIVE is their favorite band of all time? We're proud to award them with this prize, and are glad that everyone had a fun experience participating in this contest!
