THANATOS Is 'Far From Being Dead, Buried And Forgotten'

Dutch death metal pioneers THANATOS have issued the following update:

"Just a quick word to assure you that THANATOS are far from being dead, buried and forgotten. The band members are just extremely busy with all their other bands/projects right now; Stephan [Gebédi, guitar/vocals] and Paul [Baayens, guitar] have just finished recording the debut album of HAIL OF BULLETS, which will be out on Metal Blade Records around the end of May 2008, Paul has also joined the reformed ASPHYX. And Yuri [Rinkel, drums] and Marco [de Bruin, bass] have just embarked on a major European tour with MELECHESH, supporting IMMOLATION... we'll definitely try to focus on THANATOS again later this year, but for now you'll have to settle for the odd live appearance like the one we have planned in Dendermonde, Belgium on May 24th."

THANATOS recently uploaded a couple of tracks from its forthcoming fifth full-length album, "Justified Genocide", on the band's MySpace page.

Commented the group: "So far no label seems to have the guts to release the new THANATOS album, so we decided to make these songs available for download, hope you like 'em!"

THANATOS in 2006 suspended the recording sessions for "Justified Genocide" at Excess studios in Rotterdam, Holland after the group's record label at the time, Greece's Black Lotus Records, announced that it was closing its doors.

THANATOS's new album is scheduled to feature nine or 10 songs, including "They Feed On Fear", "The Devil's Triangle", "March of the Infidels", "Upwards Spritual Evolution" and "The Netherworld". The artwork will be handled by German artist Timo Wuerz.

THANATOS' fourth CD, "Undead. Unholy. Divine" (2004),was produced by Hans Pieters and the band at Excess and was mastered by Attie Bauw (JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS, GOREFEST).
