THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT Featuring Former P.O.D. Guitarist: Tour Dates Announced

March 31, 2006

Former P.O.D. founder/guitarist Marcos Curiel's band THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT will finally release their long-anticipated debut album, "United We Fear", on May 9. The band will begin a coast-to-coast tour along with FIVE.BOLT.MAIN and ELEMENT EIGHTY on May 6 in Longview, TX. So far 25 dates have been announced with more on the way.

After eleven years of being the driving force behind the success of P.O.D.Curiel has a band that he feels can help him explore his musical tastes and talent. THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT was originally formed in late 2002 by Curiel. Rounding out the THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT lineup is vocalist Pete Stewart and former SPRUNG MONKEY members Tony DeLocht (bass) and Ernie Longoria (drums).

Since the birth of THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT, the group has evolved from what began as jam sessions between San Diego musical peers Curiel and Longoria into a solid, buzzworthy Southern California rock act with tours and opening slots along side the likes of FOO FIGHTERS, KORN, DAMAGEPLAN, DROWNING POOL, SEVENDUST, CYPRESS HILL, STAIND, BLUR and BODY COUNT in its relatively short history.

"We're all proud of what we've done in the past," states Curiel, who also served as one of the main songwriters for P.O.D.'s two biggest albums. "I had some great times in P.O.D., and we put out some solid music that a lot of people dug. But in this band, everyone decided we wanted to throw out most of the rules that we had in our old bands and play how we've always wanted to play. I think you can hear the feeling of freedom in what we do, at our shows and on our recordings.

"THE ACCIDENT EXPERIMENT isn't predictable, that's what makes it an experience for us and the fans. There's more to it than just us, the band members," states Curiel. "I wanted to form a project that, musically, was larger than any one member; something that could be an experience in the truest sense of the word.

"This is no fly-by-night project," says Stewart. "We're a band that's here to stay."

A video for the band's first single, 'Sick Love Letter", was recently filmed in Los Angeles by Kevin Leonard (FIVE.BOLT.MAIN),and will be made available shortly. "All the performance shots were captured with the band playing in front of a green screen," reads a posting on the group's web site. "The video is going to be a rather psychedelic portrayal, containing dark animation and featuring a unique combination of trippy modern and vintage imagery."
