THE ACCURSED Have Not Parted Ways With SCREAMING FERRET WRECKORDS After All

Drummer Chris Helme of the New Bedford, Massachusetts melodic thrash metallers THE ACCURSED has sent the following update to BLABBEMOUTH.NET:

"Chris Helme here, hoping to somehow repair a huge communication breakdown that has been the focus of several very serious discussions over the past few days.

"I would first like to apologize to anyone who mistook this [previous] e-mail as direct communication from our band, especially to Screaming Ferret Wreckords.

"On behalf of THE ACCURSED, I am sending this to completely retract the previous statements made erroneously on behalf of the band, and to formally announce that THE ACCURSED have NOT 'decided' to leave Screaming Ferret Wreckords, and we have not been given the CD to take elsewhere. We are still under contract to release this CD through Screaming Ferret, and that has not changed. Nobody at Screaming Ferret has 'given' us the CD to take elsewhere.

"While it is true that unforeseen events have thus far prevented us from releasing our CD, 'Seasons of the Scythe', it's also true that though we have the finished product ready to go to press, we are in a holding pattern until our good friends at SFW can resolve these issues for us and help get this CD to the masses. Nothing about our contract with SFW or the release of the CD has changed but the actual release date, which is still to be announced.

"We're not exactly sure why messages have been posted announcing our leaving the label. At this we are still unclear as to who even made these claims. We have suffered a miscommunication somewhere, and the situation needs to be rectified immediately. Someone close to the band, who have yet to step forward, has spoken on behalf of the band without first clearing everything through its members, and steps have been taken to ensure this kind of thing does not happen again.

"In closing, I would just like to say that THE ACCURSED have received nothing but praise and support from Screaming Ferret Wreckords, so we highly respect them from a business standpoint, consider them to be close friends, and greatly appreciate everything that they have done for us.

"I want to reiterate that THE ACCURSED have signed a contract with SFW to release our CD, and we fully intend to honor it, and to stand by our friends at SFW until this matter is fully resolved. Any questions regarding this matter can be forwarded to me, as I have assumed control of all management aspects of the band.

"I will do everything that I can to ensure that any questions and concerns are responded to immediately, and again, on behalf of THE ACCURSED. I'm sorry for any confusion."

Formed out of the ashes of metallic hardcore act AGAIN WITHOUT FEELING and black metallers IMPERIAL DARKNESS, THE ACCURSED had previously recorded an eight-song demo, "Straight from Hell", at the Styrofoam Room with BEYOND THE EMBRACE guitarist Oscar Gouveia.
