THE ACCURSED Part Ways With Guitarist, Seek Replacement

December 2, 2005

Guitarist Chris "Loki" Ellingsen has announced his departure from the New Bedford, Massachusetts melodic thrash metallers THE ACCURSED. "[Loki] has been with us from the start, helped form and mold THE ACCURSED into the killing metal machine that it is today," the band write on their web site. "It is a sad day in our world. He will be playing all of the shows we have lined up as of right now. With him leaving a part of us dies with him. He was and is our bandmate, our friend, our brother. We wish him the best the world can give him. He will be missed more than he knows."

THE ACCURSED are holding auditions for a new axeman. All applicants must have transportation, own equipment and be able to practice two times a week in New Bedford. Dedication, drive, hunger for metal and a willingness to travel are a must. The band's influences IRON MAIDEN, DEATH, CARCASS, DISSECTION, THE HAUNTED, CHILDREN OF BODOM, HYPOCRISY, THIN LIZZY, SLAYER, OPETH, DECAPITATED, BLACK SABBATH, '80s thrash metal, '80s hair metal and '70s rock and roll. If interested, e-mail [email protected].

THE ACCURSED's recently completed debut album is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2006 via Screaming Ferret Wreckords.
