THE ACCUSED Completes Work On Two New Songs
January 19, 2007Seattle's reigning kings of "splatter rock" THE ACCUSED have just completed work on two new songs — "Fuck Sorry" and "Scotty Came Back" — for their upcoming album, scheduled for release late May. The band spent less than 24 hours recording and mixing the tracks with producer Randall Dunn (SUNN O))), BURNING WITCH, etc.) at his studio in Seattle. These first recordings mark the debut of the "new" lineup, which features Brad Mowen (BURNING WITCH, AVSA, 90 PROOF, MOMMY, SWEATY NIPPLES, APES OF WRATH) on vocals, Mike Peterson (BAM BAM, MOMMY, APES OF WRATH, SEAN) on drums, Prof. Iman A. Phid (formerly "Father Shark" of industrial/metal perverts THE PLEASURE ELITE) on bass and original guitarist Tommy Niemeyer. At least one of the tracks is scheduled to be available for free download via the band's official web site on or before January 26. THE ACCUSED plans to record with Dunn for its upcoming full-length release again in the spring.
THE ACCUSED's first album in over ten years, "Oh, Martha!" was recorded by Jack Endino at Scotty Crane's Soundhouse Studios in Seattle and was mastered by Scott Hull (PIG DESTROYER). The CD, which was originally issued in the U.S. in 2005, was released in Europe via Nuclear Blast Records.
