THE AGONIST: Footage From Rocky Mountain Crash Posted Online

October 30, 2008

Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based female-fronted band THE AGONIST has posted video footage from its ill-fated fall 2007 tour with ENSLAVED which was cut short after THE AGONIST's van crashed. Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz stated at the time, "After desperately trying to make our way through a blizzard's Rocky Mountain terrain to get to our Oregon show and continue the ENSLAVED tour… we found ourselves stranded in a ditch, with the trailer upside down on its nose. Yes, we crashed trying to get to a show… but nobody was hurt at all. Our vehicle, however, a different story. Long story short, our gear got wrecked, then the van short-fused, we nearly killed a deer, the wipers broke and we got a flat tire on the trailer while attempting to drive our newly mutated van and trailer combo."

THE AGONIST's music video for the track "Business Suits and Combat Boots" was shot by renowned director David Brodsky. The song was featured on the band's debut CD, "Once Only Imagined", which tackles some of society's biggest issues, including animal testing, drug abuse, eating disorders, environmental protection and man's inhumanity towards man and animals. The band's ultimate goal, though, is simply to encourage people to think for themselves. A follow-up album is currently being recorded for an early 2009 release.
