THE ALMIGHTY: Support Band For U.K. Tour Announced

All-girl Brighton, England-based rock band MCQUEEN has been confirmed as the support act for the reactivated rockers THE ALMIGHTY on their U.K. tour in December. The dates are as follows:

Dec. 26 - Rock City - Nottingham, UK
Dec. 27 - Shepherd's Bush Empire - London, UK
Dec. 28 - Corporation - Sheffield, UK
Dec. 29 - Academy - Newcastle, UK
Dec. 30 - Garage - Glasgow, UK

THE ALMIGHTY are working on "a definitive 'best of' album, including all the promo videos," to coincide with the tour, according to an online posting by the group's frontman, Ricky Warwick. More information will be made available soon.

THE ALMIGHTY's current lineup includes Ricky Warwick (vocals, guitar),Pete Friesen (guitars),Floyd London (bass) and Stumpy Monroe (drums).

As previously reported, THE ALMIGHTY bassist Floyd London is getting his walking boots on to once again raise money for leukemia research following his gruelling battle with the cancer and the band's benefit shows at the beginning of the year which raised a total of £25,000 for the charity.

Floyd will join Ian Botham on October 9 for a 12-mile walk in Glasgow.

Floyd was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in September 2004 and was given a 50/50 chance of survival. He has been in remission for two years but must make it to five years before being given the all-clear.
