THE AMENTA Seek New Vocalist

June 3, 2006

Australia's extreme industrial metal collective THE AMENTA are currently seeking a new vocalist. Interested parties should download the instrumental version of "Nihil" — which is available at the band's official web site — and record a demo version of the track before e-mailing it to the group at [email protected]. Please include a bio and any other relevant information.

According to a posting on the band's site, applicants are welcome from anywhere in Australia and overseas. Australian applicants must be prepared to travel to Sydney to rehearse regularly and to relocate to Europe in the near future.

Says the group: "Please note we are not searching for an exact replica of our former vocalist and any new ideas, techniques and sounds are encouraged."

As previously reported, THE AMENTA are currently in the studio working on two distinct follow-ups to 2004's acclaimed "Occasus". From the multimedia/propaganda arm of THE AMENTA comes an exercise in churning electronics, searing distortion and factory ambience. To be released as an Internet release through www.theamenta.com as well as an extremely limited DVD pressing complete with manipulated visuals and binary code. And then the full-length follow up to "Occasus".

"Occasus" was engineered and mixed by Lachlan Mitchell, keyboardist for Australian black metal legends NAZXUL. The recording process spanned five months from January to May 2004 and took place in many different studios throughout Sydney, finally being mixed at the newly refurbished BJB studios and mastered at Studios 301.
