THE BAKERTON GROUP To Be Joined By OPETH Keyboardist In Kansas City

October 13, 2008

THE BAKERTON GROUP, the instrumental project featuring several members of the Maryland-based rock band CLUTCH, will be joined by keyboardist Per Wiberg (OPETH, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, KING HOBO) for tomorrow night's (Tuesday, October 14) performance at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Missouri. Also appearing on the bill are OPETH (headliners) and HIGH ON FIRE.

THE BAKERTON GROUP incorporates elements of blues-rock, psychedelic rock and stoner rock. The band is comprised of four of the five members of CLUTCHTim Sult, Dan Maines, Jean-Paul Gaster and Neil Fallon — and has toured extensively throughout Canada and the United States. Taking a sidestep from the token CLUTCH sound, THE BAKERTON GROUP is completely instrumental and pushes into foreign territory with a more southern, psychedelic, improvisational feel.

THE BAKERTON GROUP released an EP, "Space Guitars", in 2000 and a full-length album in 2007.
