THE DARKNESS 'Scream' With Funny Or Die

The anonymous caller whose $119 million bid won them one of the greatest masterpieces of modern art Edvard Munch's "The Scream", has been revealed as none other than U.K. rockers THE DARKNESS. Click here to watch how these art enthusiasts have honored this epic work.

While THE DARKNESS gear up for the August 21 release of their third studio album "Hot Cakes" (Wind-up Records),the group — Justin Hawkins (vocals/guitars),Dan Hawkins (guitars/backing vocals),Frankie Poullain (bass) and Ed Graham (drums) — joined forces with the popular comedy site Funny Or Die to film the hilarious clip in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, "Everybody Have A Good Time", the first single off "Hot Cakes", is set to hit radio June 25 and will be available June 26 on iTunes, Amazon Mp3, Spotify and everywhere online. In addition, the new preview track "Every Inch Of You" is available now on iTunes.

Funny or Die is a comedy video web site founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's production company, Gary Sanchez Productions. The site contains exclusive material from famous contributors such as Judd Apatow and James Franco, and also has its own team which creates original material for the site. Many clips on the site feature well-known actors like Charlie Sheen, Ryan Gosling, Patrick Stewart, Daniel Radcliffe and Charlize Theron.

THE DARKNESS made its U.K. live comeback in June 2011 in front of just 200 people at the Norwich Waterfront.

THE DARKNESS' first album, "Permission To Land", was released in 2003, hitting the No. 1 spot in the U.K. chart and winning "MasterCard British Album" at the 2004 Brit Awards (along with "Best British Group" and "British Rock Act").

Between 2003 and 2006, THE DARKNESS was honored with many awards and accolades; along with three Brit Awards, the band won an Ivor Novello in 2004 for "Songwriters Of The Year", four Kerrang! Awards, two Metal Hammer Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award and even an Elle Style Award in 2004 for "Most Stylish Band".
