THE DEAD DAISIES Recruit Former FOREIGNER Singer KELLY HANSEN
October 5, 2026Hard rock juggernaut THE DEAD DAISIES have officially charted a bold course for 2027, ushering in a thrilling new chapter with the addition of legendary former FOREIGNER frontman Kelly Hansen on lead vocals. Signaling a restart for the band, the rock collective has confirmed the upcoming release of a brand-new single alongside extensive global touring plans.
Fronted by Hansen, the current THE DEAD DAISIES lineup features stellar guitar work from Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE, DIO) alongside driving rhythm from guitarist David Lowy (MINK, RED PHOENIX). Rounding out the powerhouse rhythm section are heavy-hitting drummer Tommy Clufetos (BLACK SABBATH, Ozzy Osbourne) and dynamic bassist Jimi Crutchley (THE QUIREBOYS).
Hansen comments: "When I left FOREIGNER after 20 great years, I told everybody I wasn't 'retiring' just moving on to other things. This project gives me the opportunity to stretch out with some new melodies, a new vibe and fresh energy. We're gonna rock it!"
With the band in the studio working on new music, "Lift Me Up" is the first track to materialize as a preview of what lies ahead.
Aldrich states: "'Lift Me Up' started off as a dead simple guitar riff and heavy groove. As the song progressed, the melody just grew from there. It's very melodic and the lyric reflects positively and a vibe to lift us up in these crazy times.
"We're working on more cool music for the album right now and I'm excited about where it’s heading. It's also gonna be amazing to be onstage with Kelly again after all these years! His vocal range is exceptional and he's a badass frontman. Can't wait to get out there and see you all in 2027!!"
THE DEAD DAISIES will spend the remainder of the year in the recording studio and hit the road for an extensive global tour in 2027. While their confirmed spring leg runs through Europe from March 4 to March 21, the band has also announced an upcoming USA tour leg for 2027.
Audiences can expect an explosive live set bringing the band's new tracks and classic fan favorites to stages worldwide.
Lowy states: "We're fired up about the direction THE DAISIES is taking. Kelly has slotted in and it just feels right. We've got a killer record taking shape and looking forward to a big year of touring ahead. Bring on 2027!"

Hansen's addition to THE DEAD DAISIES comes three months after the departure of John Corabi, whose exit was announced in July after a three-year run with the band.
John's departure from THE DEAD DAISIES was made official a little over a month after the band reunited with Glenn Hughes for a show on May 30, 2026 at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois. Glenn joined Aldrich, Clufetos and Lowy for this rare performance — under THE PURPLE DAISIES banner — delivering a 50/50 split set, kicking off with 10 of THE DEAD DAISIES' favorite tracks followed by almost as many iconic DEEP PURPLE classics. Following the positive response to the sold-out St. Charles concert, THE PURPLE DAISIES announced that they would perform a second show on October 2, 2026, at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. That concert ended up being canceled after Hughes announced his retirement from touring and live performances.
Hughes left THE DEAD DAISIES in May 2023 after a four-year run with the band. He was later replaced by a returning Corabi. It was Corabi's second stint THE DEAD DAISIES. He originally joined in 2015 and departed four years later to make way for Hughes.
Last November, THE DEAD DAISIES digitally released a recording of the band's closing performance at the Stonedead festival on August 23, 2025.
THE DEAD DAISIES' latest collection of original material, "Light 'Em Up", came out in September 2024 via Germany's SPV and Japan's Ward Records. The LP was helmed by Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with AEROSMITH, DEF LEPPARD, Jonny Lang and Sheryl Crow, among many others.
THE DEAD DAISIES were touring last year in support of their first full-fledged blues album, "Lookin' For Trouble", out now via Fame / Malaco Records. Tracked live at FAME Studios, the album's singles — "Boom Boom", a take on the John Lee Hooker classic, and "Crossroads", a tribute to Robert Johnson — have earned praise for their energy and authenticity.
Corabi joined THE DEAD DAISIES in early 2015 and remained in the group until January 2019, during which time he recorded three studio albums with the band: "Revolución" (2015),"Make Some Noise" (2016) and "Burn It Down" (2018). In the summer of 2019, THE DEAD DAISES announced that they were being joined by Hughes, who appeared on two of the band's studio albums, 2021's "Holy Ground" and 2022's "Radiance".
