THE ESOTERIC: Studio Update

June 7, 2006

Lawrence, KS-based innovators THE ESOTERIC are continuing work on "Subverter", the band's forthcoming, second release for Prosthetic Records.

"We've been having a great time recording with Paul Malinowski," vocalist Steve Cruz comments on the band's official web site. "The sounds he has been getting are amazing and add so much to these songs. We feel like we are making the record we want to make and this time everything is more potent than ever. Each song stands on its own and there is much more variation and intent in all departments."

The cutting-edge outfit began recording May 8 at Black Lodge Recording in Eudora, KS with producer/engineer Paul Malinowski (SHINER, OPEN HAND). The follow-up to 2005's critically-acclaimed debut, "With the Sureness of Sleepwalking", will be mixed at KCMO's West End Recording Studios. Kristen Ferrell and Empty Design will be handling artwork for the new record, which will also feature a guest spot from vocalist Steve Tulipana (SEASON TO RISK, ROMAN NUMERALS). "Subverter" is currently slated for a tentative fall 2006 release through Prosthetic.
