THE ETERNAL: Live Performance To Be Webcast

August 16, 2004

Australian doom metal band THE ETERNAL (formerly CRYPTAL DARKNESS) will be playing a selection of tracks from their acclaimed debut album, "The Sombre Light of Isolation", live-to-air on "Burning Bitumen with Kene Lightfoot" on PBS-FM 106.7 after 10pm Melbourne time (GMT +10:00) on Wednesday, August 25. There is a webcast of PBS-FM available from the station web site through Windows Media Player.

As previously reported, THE ETERNAL recently parted ways with guitarist Chris Burton. Former NEPLUSULTRA guitarist Matt Castles will be taking Burton's spot in the band for their upcoming tours, including a show in Hong Kong and a slot on the Doomination of Europe II festival.

THE ETERNAL recorded three full-length albums and two EPs as CRYPTAL DARKNESS, including "They Whispered You Had Risen" and "Chapter II: The Fallen", which featured Martin Powell of MY DYING BRIDE/CRADLE OF FILTH fame on violins and keyboards. As a result of problems with label Icon Records and line-up troubles, the band decided to change their name to THE ETERNAL. The group's first CD under their new name, "The Sombre Light of Isolation", was released earlier this year through Finland's Firebox Records.
