The First Time AC/DC Guitarist Donned School Uniform On Stage

February 13, 2010

The Daily Telegraph has posted an exclusive photo capturing a moment in rock history — the first time that legendary AC/DC guitarist Angus Young donned his trademark school uniform on stage.

These images were taken at a concert in Sydney's Victoria Park in April, 1974, when AC/DC had just emerged from rehearsing in a bedroom, Bon Scott was still fronting another band and Angus was fresh out of high school.

AC/DC's then-drummer Noel Taylor said the snaps were taken by a friend, Kim Osborn, to record a key moment in their history.

"The band had been talking about wearing costumes and we decided we'd dress in character," Taylor said. "It was something different; we wanted attention."
