THE FUNERAL PYRE To Tour West Coast With CERBERUS
February 28, 2007Los Angeles' THE FUNERAL PYRE will embark on a two-week West Coast tour with Creator Destructor labelmates CERBERUS. Now supporting the re-release of the band's second full-length, "The Nature of Betrayal", through a distribution deal with Prosthetic Records, the tour marks THE FUNERAL PYRE's return to the road after the band's jaunt with APIARY and DRYLINE in November and December of 2006 and a handful of southern California appearances since then. The band will also make an appearance at the first day of California Metalfest, having played the inaugural California Metalfest last year as well, and THE FUNERAL PYRE will make its New England Metal and Hardcore Festival debut in April, playing the fest's first date.
Grabbing influence from AT THE GATES, SHAI HULUD, DISSECTION and EMPEROR, THE FUNERAL PYRE has been a staple in the underground Los Angeles music scene since its formation in 2000 and self-releasing several demos, a split seven-inch, and a self-financed full-length debut prior to "The Nature of Betrayal".
