THE GREAT DECEIVER Ink Deal With Peaceville Records

Today Peaceville Records proudly announces the label's first new signing of 2002, Sweden's THE GREAT DECEIVER. Featuring vocalist Tomas Lindberg, guitarists Kristian Wahlin and Johan Osterberg, bassist Matti Lundell and drummer Hans Nilsson, the band have recently finished work on their label and full-length debut titled A Venom Well-Designed.

About the signing, Peaceville guru Hammy says, "It was always a great privilege working with Tomas when AT THE GATES were signed to Peaceville in the mid 90's. In our opinion Tomas is one of the best vocalists/songwriters of his generation. We've kept up a firm friendship down the years and I'm absolutely delighted to have him back on the label."

Vocalist and band leader Tomas Lindberg says, "Why did we choose Peaceville? There are two reasons really. First, I've known Hammy and Lisa for over ten years. They know who I am and where I come from. They have always supported me 100%. It's down to mutual respect basically. Secondly, all the other labels that wanted to sign us hadn't even heard the record. It felt like they were more interested about the ex-AT THE GATES sticker they could put on the cover. Peaceville flipped when they heard the record. They saw what we wanted to do and they wanted to release it because of the strength of the record."

THE GREAT DECEIVER released Jet Black Art on Trustkill Records in 2000. The MCD received solid response from critics and fans alike. A Venom Well-Designed is expected to be a highly anticipated album. Album track listing includes: "Pierced 2: The Living End", "Poisoned Chalice", "After The Flood", "Enter The Martyrs", "The Demons Lair", "Arsenic Dreams", "Strychnine", "The Blade", "Leave It All Behind", "Destroy - Adore". The American release date of A Venom Well-Designed will be announced shortly.
