THE HAUNTED Frontman: 'We've Become Stormtroopers Of Metal'

February 3, 2007

THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving has posted the following message on the band's MySpace page:

"Last night this was on my feeble little mind:

"We've become stormtroopers of metal. Insane. Transformed. We will come in to town. Relentlessly set about preparing for an hours worth of sonic annihilation. Nothing in the human condition holds us back. We will play and our music and our deliverance of that music will come down on the audience like a relentless monstrosity. We are no longer a rock band. It's gone beyond that. We play in any physical condition. We deliver. Savagely, hungry and with no interest in those who might not care nor know why they came to our show. We've turned into a primal machine unity of sonic assault and abysmal emotion. It's not an experience of single identity. We are no longer people. We are THE HAUNTED. Others will bury themselves in drugs, drink and selfextinction to endure the complete madness of all this. Feel miserable, or godlike in their undertakings. But it will only devour you. There is nothing to consider outside the one primary objective. Crush. Mangle. Shake the soul and with complete and fanatic conviction exhort. Excorsise. We will rock the living shit out of whoever decides to step in front of the stage we enter. This is a kind of war. A war for love for dignity, for the truth and the right to express ones soul. A war for tolerance, compassion and reaching for true humanity. A war fought not with guns, not fought with cold impersonal scapegoating. We give ourselves to this. Music. Emotion. Soul. Amusement? Dance mutherfucker, feel this and you need no amusement. Life is too short for that. This a celebration. A celebration of carnal desire, love, hope and trust. Ye who here enter abandon all illusion. This is for beginnings. This is for love."

THE HAUNTED has launched its own YouTube video channel at this location. The group's video for the song "The Flood" has been posted online at this location. The clip was directed by Roger Johansson (ARCH ENEMY, HAMMERFALL, SOILWORK) in Sweden. The track comes off the new THE HAUNTED album, "The Dead Eye", which came out on Oct. 31 via Century Media Records. A "making of" feature for the "The Flood" video can be viewed here. An e-card featuring two tracks from the CD — "The Medication" and "The Drowning" — can be accessed at this location.
