THE HAUNTED Guitarist: 'A Step Further Into A Dark, Twisted And Horrific Place'
April 12, 2006Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED are scheduled to enter Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark in May with producer Tue Madsen to begin recording their new album for a tentative late October release via Century Media Records. THE HAUNTED's Per Möller Jensen will record the drums at Puk Studios in Randers, Denmark during the first week of May. The vocals will probably be recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. The plan is to have everything mixed and mastered in June.
Commented guitarist Anders Björler: "We are currently re-recording all the songs to find the right individual tempos and to make a final pre-production that hopefully sounds closer to the finished product. Although we have very limited recording capabilities in our rehearsal room, we have managed to get a decent sound. It proved to be a crucial step to bring a computer this time around. It has helped us alot to focus on the arrangements and intricate details within the songs with a more relaxed approach. On previous pre-productions we have had to cope with horrible rehearsal rooms, and without any kind of recording possibilities (if you don't count grandma's old kitchen radio as a professional recording tool). So far I'm very pleased with what we have done musically. Very HAUNTED, of course, but a step further into a dark, twisted and horrific place."
THE HAUNTED's fourth album, "rEVOLVEr", entered the Swedish album chart at position No. 18 upon its release in October 2004. The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" was recorded at Gothenburg's famed Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) with co-producers Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström and mixed at Denmark's Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen. The album was released as jewel-case CD and limited edition digipak (each with a different cover),featuring two special bonus tracks, "Fire Alive" and "Smut King".
