THE HAUNTED: Studio Update

May 31, 2006

Swedish thrashers THE HAUNTED are contining work on their new album, tentatively due before the end of the year via Century Media Records. Guitarist Anders Björler has posted the following update on the band's official web site (NOTE: Anders' message is dated May 19 but was delayed in getting posted to the band' site due to "technical issues."):

"It's moving forward. We finished all the rhythm guitar tracks last Friday, and moved onto additional guitars and solos this past weekend. Jonas [Björler, bass] came down [to Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark] Tuesday and recorded the bass tracks in four days or so. We have now moved onto doing some dubs and recording additional sounds on some songs.

"I've uploaded some pictures from the recording so far (in Windows Media video format). In the end there's also a short clip of Jonas and Tue [Madsen, producer] trying out bass sounds. Get the clip here.

"Peter [Dolving, vocals] is coming down this Sunday to scream his way through the songs. I'll keep you updated on more news the following week or so."

THE HAUNTED's fourth album, "rEVOLVEr", entered the Swedish album chart at position No. 18 upon its release in October 2004. The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" was recorded at Gothenburg's famed Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) with co-producers Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström and mixed at Denmark's Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen. The album was released as jewel-case CD and limited edition digipak (each with a different cover),featuring two special bonus tracks, "Fire Alive" and "Smut King".
