THE JONBENÉT Singer Suffers Serious Ankle Injury; Tour Dates Cancelled
March 8, 2006Texas-based post-hardcore band THE JONBENÉT have been forced to cancel the remaining dates of their tour (which was to run through March 19) due to a serious ankle injury sustained late yesterday by the group's vocalist, Mike Murland. An official statement from the band reads as follows:
"Mike hurt his ankle pretty bad last night requiring a trip to the emergency room in Baltimore. Thankfully it isn't broken, but the doctors say that he'll need surgery if he doesn't stay off of it for at least a few weeks. So with that warning, we have to cut this tour short and head back home to Houston. We don't want to risk our tour plans for the rest of the year which would be questionable if Mike were to need surgery. As far as our upcoming local show and our tour with AT ALL COST beginning next month, we're going to do those for sure. We're very sorry to all the people that were planning to come out and see us over the next week and a half. We're going to make it up to you and be back in your area soon. We'd also like to say thanks to all the people that have come out to our shows on this tour, sang along, bought some merch, or given us a place to crash. We love you all, and we'll see you again soon."
THE JONBENÉT are continuing to promote their "The Plot Thickens" CD, which came out in July 2005.
