THE KINKS' DAVIES Says He Would Like To Record A Song With METALLICA

February 24, 2010

THE KINKS leader Ray Davies has cited a possible collaboration with METALLICA for his upcoming collection of new versions of old songs, which will include duets with Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. "I might talk to [METALLICA] about doing a song," he told the Republican newspaper in November. "I listen to their music and I think we could do a quite interesting collaboration." He added, "I want it to be diverse and interesting, not the obvious things and hopefully stretch the artists and get them to do things that either that they wouldn't have thought of or in some case that I wouldn't have thought of. I'd like it to be truly collaborative."

Davies joined METALLICA for an October 30, 2009 performance at Madison Square Garden in New York as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Video footage of his appearance can be viewed below.
