THE MOB: WHITESNAKE, KING'S X, NIGHT RANGER Members Join Forces In New Project
June 14, 2005Frontiers Records has revealed the details of THE MOB, a new hard rock machine masterminded by former WINGER/DOKKEN and current WHITESNAKE guitarist Reb Beach along with his WHITESNAKE bandmate Timothy Drury on keyboards, Doug Pinnick from KING'S X on vocals and bass and Kelly Keagy of NIGHT RANGER on drums and vocals.
THE MOB are currently putting the finishing touches on their self-titled debut album, recorded under the direction of none other than Kip Winger in Nashville, TN. Kip also contributed to the songwriting and the arrangements on the album.
Commented Beach: "I brought Kip 120 ideas and he liked ten of them for the album."
"I have been writing for two years," continued Reb, "and I am extremely excited, there are hits and jam songs, lots of riff-based rock with doubled guitars and big hooky choruses."
The final result is an amazing hard rock album which blends together the best of late WINGER and WHITESNAKE songwriting approach with NIGHT RANGER and early KING'S X sense of melody. Some of the songs recorded include "One Track Mind" (mp3 clip) (also featured on the forthcoming "Rock the Bones Vol. III" Frontiers label sampler),"The Magic" (mp3 clip),"Love Will Carry On" (mp3 clip) and "Turn To Stone" (mp3 clip). An early 2006 release is expected.
