THE OFFSPRING: 'Coming For You' Video Released
March 17, 2015The official video for THE OFFSPRING's new single called "Coming For You" can be seen below.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, THE OFFSPRING singer Dexter Holland told Loudwire in a new interview that there's no timetable for the band to finish its tenth studio album, despite the fact that the group recently released "Coming For You". Holland explained, "We've been recording the album at a real relaxed pace… Just when we feel inspired and go in and eventually we'll get it together and go in and really finish it — knock it out."
The singer told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he doesn't let commercial pressures get to him at this point. "It's easy to let that stuff mess with you," he said. "Like people ask me, 'Do you feel pressure writing an album?' And everyone wants to say, 'No, no, I don't feel any pressure,' but I don't think that's really true. You want what you put out to be respected, and you want it to be as good as what you've done before, but if you stay there, then you start thinking about what other people are expecting, or what do I think other people would like, and then you have to learn how to put that aside and do what it is you do, or you can't do good work."
Asked if taking time to make the record is a way to build anticipation for it, Holland replied, "We're not that clever, we're just lazy. Every other time we've done a record, we hunker down and go into the studio for a year or however long it takes. We just decided not to do it that way this time. We thought let's just do a couple of songs, work on them when we feel inspired and when we have it done, we thought, why wait? Let's just go ahead and put it out."
Holland said that the band is "maybe halfway" through writing the songs for the new record.
The band issued its ninth album, "Days Gone By", in 2012. It spent 2014 on the road promoting the 20th anniversary of its breakout album, "Smash", performing the disc in its entirety at a number of shows.
THE OFFSPRING will play in Tempe, Arizona on April 4 and Frisco, Texas on April 25, with more festival appearances on tap for later in the summer.
