THE PANIC CHANNEL: First Video Posted Online
December 25, 2004THE PANIC CHANNEL, the new band featuring three quarters of the most recent lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION (guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney) and former SKYCYCLE vocalist Steve Isaacs, have posted a video for their track "Bloody Mary" at this location (Quicktime, 18.3 MB).
Commented the band: "The last show at the Key Club in Los Angeles was filmed by our friend Mark Racco. He did a fantastic job, and we wanted to give something to [the fans] for having such interest and support for the CHANNEL at this early stage. This is a live video of 'Bloody Mary' that we synched to a mixed version from the upcoming record."
As previously reported, THE PANIC CHANNEL have finished recording more than half of their debut album. The as-yet-untitled set is being recorded by producer/engineer Bryan Virtue, who worked on JANE'S ADDICTION's 2003 Capitol reunion album, "Strays".
While Navarro is signed to Capitol as a solo artist, THE PANIC CHANNEL have yet to ink a label deal. "We'd like to stay at Capitol," Navarro told Billboard.com. "So far, everything has been DIY. We financed the record and the shows. At this point, we're just doing it as well as we can on our own. If Capitol wants to get involved, we'd love it."
Asked to describe THE PANIC CHANNEL's sound, Navarro offered, "It's definitely rock. The best description I can give you is, if RUSH was an alternative band with a little sense of goth. It's like a goth RUSH."
