THE PRETTY RECKLESS Singer Says 'Who You Selling For' Album Is 'Very Eclectic' And 'Very Diverse'

September 2, 2016

Meltdown of the WRIF radio station in Detroit, Michigan recently conducted an interview with THE PRETTY RECKLESS members Taylor Momsen (lead vocals),Jamie Perkins (drums) and Ben Phillips (lead guitar). You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below.

Speaking about THE PRETTY RECKLESS's third studio album, "Who You Selling For", which will be released on October 21 via Razor & Tie, Taylor said: "Well, I think it's the next step for this band. The band keeps evolving as we continue and grow as musicians and individuals and as a band. It's very eclectic, it's very diverse. One song does not define the rest of the record in any capacity whatsoever, so we really can't wait for everyone to hear it from front to back and really delve into it. It takes lots of turns in many different directions. We kind of set out to make a classic rock record without really putting any limits on it, and I think we might have accomplished that."

Taylor recently told Kerrang! magazine about the "Who You Selling For" album title: "Well, it's a song off the record, and it's thought-provoking. I wanted to have this record make people think a little bit broader than just an obvious statement. By putting the question out there, it creates a diversity that will allow the listener to better understand the record."

The singer also talked about the "Who You Selling For" cover art. She said: "It's a very direct representation of how I feel at the moment. I wanted it to be artistic and emote how I'm feeling at this junction in my life. An artist came to me with this image, and it was just perfect! The artist is a close friend who wants to remain anonymous, but they had heard the record and worked based off of the music to create that image."

"Who You Selling For" was produced by THE PRETTY RECKLESS's longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala. The songs were written by Momsen and Phillips.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS hits the road this fall in support of the album, hitting major markets in the U.S. and wrapping on December 6 in Los Angeles.
