April 28, 2009

The original lineup of THE RODS, the classic '80s metal band led by Ronnie James Dio's (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL) cousin, guitarist David "Rock" Feinstein, will shoot their very first HD-DVD at the legendary The Haunt nightclub in Ithaca , New York on Saturday, May 16. They would like to invite all RODS fans to be a part of the making of this special video. Interested fans can obtain more information and/or a certificate for participation by visiting www.diatonic.biz. RODS fans who sign up in advance will be interviewed for possible inclusion on the DVD.

THE RODS are always hearing stories from fans about their favorite shows, songs, and albums,. As a result, they thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to let their fans share their stories with not only the band, but other RODS fans throughout the world.

In addition, the fan (or fans) who have traveled the greatest distance to attend the May 16 Haunt show will receive an exclusive "Rock Hard" package, which includes T-shirts, CDs, and videos. They will also have a private "meet-and-greet" session backstage with the band.

The Haunt show details:

* THE RODS with BLUE MONDAY at The Haunt Bar & Grill on Willow Ave. in Ithaca, NY
* Saturday, May 16, 2009
* Tickets: $10 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m.; show begins at 7:30 p.m.

This performance is in support of THE RODS' forthcoming CD, "Vengeance", which features Ronnie James Dio's vocals on selected tracks. The show is also a precursor for their appearance at the South Texas Rock Fest with QUEENSRŸCHE, and their summer performance at Headbangers Open Air in Germany. Opening the show on May 16 will be THE RODS' good friends BLUE MONDAY from Cortland, New York.

At The Haunt show, THE RODS will make available official "bootleg" CDs and DVDs from past performances. The band has personally assembled these rare recordings out of various private archives, fan recordings, and other "never-intended-for-release" reference materials. There be some additional surprises for hardcore RODS fans at the merchandise table, including a selection of brand new T-shirts available for purchase. Supplies will be limited, so don't miss your chance to own a piece of RODS history — this merchandise may never be offered again!

THE RODS' lineup includes Feinstein on guitar/vocals, Garry Bordonaro on bass and Carl Canedy on drums.
