February 15, 2002

THE ROLLINS BAND, EXENE CERVENKAS BAND, THE ORIGINAL SINNERS and Wayne Kramer of the MC5 will perform a benefit show on Friday, March 8th at the Troubadour in Los Angeles to raise money and awareness for the West Memphis Three. The subjects of two successful HBO-produced documentaries, Paradise Lost parts I and II, The West Memphis Three is a group of young men who were unjustly tried and convicted of the murders of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1993. In an effort to win a new trial (so two of the men can be released and one of them, Damien Echols, can be spared the death penalty),the trio are in a desperate need of money to pay for their overwhelming legal costs. For more information on the case, go to this location. Along with a great show, there will also be a West Memphis Three info table, and a silent auction will be hosted featuring autographed items from THE ROLLINS BAND, THE SUPERSUCKERS, EXENE, and others. You will also be able to purchase the West Memphis Three Benefit CD which features: TOM WAITS, LONG BEACH DUB ALL-STARS, ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, THE SUPERSUCKERS WITH EDDIE VEDDER, ZEKE and other great bands.
