THE WILDHEARTS's GINGER To Guest On 'Electric Ballroom' This Weekend

April 24, 2008

Tune in to the "Electric Ballroom" radio show with hosts Aimee Kristi and Keith Roth on WRAT this Sunday, April 27 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern for an exclusive interview with Ginger from long-running UK rockers THE WILDHEARTS.

You can listen to the program live on 95.9 WRAT FM in the New York/New Jersey area or via the Internet at www.wrat.com (hit "Listen Live").

As previously reported, THE WILDHEARTS will release "Stop Us If You've Heard This One Before Vol. 1" digitally on May 19.

The 12-track album is a collection of covers from some of THE WILDHEARTS' favourite bands and will be available exclusively to download worldwide from all major (and not-so-major) digital stores.

The track listing is as follows:

01. Unsung (HELMET)
02. The World Comes Tumblin' (THE DISTILLERS)
03. Understanding Jane (THE ICICLE WORKS)
04. Waiting Room (FUGAZI)
05. Geez Louise (THE UNBAND)
06. Ice Hockey Hair (SUPER FURRY ANIMALS)
07. Rocket 69 (THE LEE HARVEY OSWALD BAND)
08. Possum Kingdom (TOADIES)
09. Rearrange You (BABY CHAOS)
10. Pep Talk (THE DESCENDENTS)
11. Battleship Chains (GEORGIA SATELLITES)
12. Carmelita (WARREN ZEVON)

The band is streaming its cover of "Understanding Jane" (THE ICICLE WORKS) at this location.

Ginger (vocals/guitar): "This song was the blueprint for 'My Baby Is A Headfuck'. I love Ian McNabb's vocals and lyrics. His solo albums are also amazing (check out his first, self titled solo release). I had imagined we'd do a great version of this song as it has THE WILDHEARTS stamped all over it. Hey, we only copy the best."

Scott Sorry (vocals/bass): "How could you not want to cover this song? I've tried to write this song a thousand times. When a band can write a song with the same chords and structure that you've heard 1000 times before, and STILL make the hairs on your arm stand up.... learn everything you can from them."

"Stop Us..." will mark the first time that each member of the band has taken on lead vocal duties on a WILDHEARTS release.

THE WILDHEARTS will preview a new track on their MySpace site every Monday, starting from April 21.
