THEATRE OF TRAGEDY Celebrates 15th Anniversary, Prepares To Record New Album

October 3, 2008

Norway's THEATRE OF TRAGEDY celebrated its 15th anniversary as a band on Thursday, October 2. To mark this occasion, the group's members have issued the following statements:

Lorentz Aspen (keyboards): "As the youngest member and spending half of my time on earth as a THEATRE OF TRAGEDY member, the band and the music has been a great part in my life. It has been a journey of tremendous emotions, both good and bad that I'd never be without. A great thank you to all of the people in the world that have made all of these things possible for us. I sincerely hope that we will be able to perform for you for years to come. Thank you."

Nell Sigland (vocals): "For about four years now I've been in this THEATRE. No doubts it's been good, and it's been... not always so good. Being forced to deal with 'other issues' instead of focusing on the music, has been kind of frustrating time to time. I want to say thanks a lot to all of you that's been supportive to the band. Hope to see you all on tour soon! And remember this: rock is not dead!"

Hein Frode Hansen (drums): "To imagine doing what I love the most in this world for so long is incredible! THEATRE OF TRAGEDY is in my blood. This will never change. We have been to hell and back and back again and so forth. Nothing can break the bond we have. A million thanks to all the fans out there that have made this possible."

The group continued in a joint statement: "We want to show our appreciation for our fans by offering a special version of the song 'Beauty In Deconstruction' (original version) that has the extra one minute that was cut out of the version from the EP 'Storm'. You can download the track from their official homepage www.theatreoftragedy.com.

"The band has just finished the pre-production of 12 songs for their upcoming album and are very excited about the material. A small demo sample with some photos from the session can be found on the homepage."

THEATRE OF TRAGEDY's latest album, "Storm", was released in March 2006 via AFM Records. The CD was produced by Rico Darum and mixed by Greg Reely (PARADISE LOST, FEAR FACTORY, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, SKINNY PUPPY, etc.) at The Green Jacket studios in Richmond, B.C., Canada. The album is the group's first to feature singer Nell (THE CREST),who replaced Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull (currently in LEAVES' EYES) in early 2004.
