August 27, 2009THEM CROOKED VULTURES — the new supergroup consisting of FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE singer/guitarist Josh Homme and LED ZEPPELIN bassist John Paul Jones — opened for the ARCTIC MONKEYS (Homme produced the MONKEYS' new album, "Humbug") last night (Wednesday, August 26) at London, England's Brixton Academy. THEM CROOKED VULTURES is rumored to be playing the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K. this weekend but so far nothing has been confirmed.
The band made its live debut on August 9 at the Metro club in Chicago, shortly after Lollapalooza closed its third and final day at nearby Grant Park.
THEM CROOKED VULTURES, which has been in the works for four years, will release an album and hit the road sometime later this year, but official details have yet to be announced. So far all the band has done is put up a web site as well as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube pages.
