THEM CROOKED VULTURES Plays Surprise LEEDS Festival Show

According to NME.com, THEM CROOKED VULTURES — the new supergroup consisting of FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE singer/guitarist Josh Homme and LED ZEPPELIN bassist John Paul Jones — made a surprise appearance at the Leeds festival this afternoon (Friday, August 28),playing an unannounced set on the NME/Radio 1 Stage.

The band had kept its appearance a secret, not confirming they were playing until just hours before the show.

Rumors had circulated about their possible appearance since the band played a surprise support slot with ARCTIC MONKEYS — who headline in Leeds tonight — in London earlier in the week (August 26).

THEM CROOKED VULTURES made its live debut on August 9 at the Metro club in Chicago, shortly after Lollapalooza closed its third and final day at nearby Grant Park.

THEM CROOKED VULTURES, which has been in the works for four years, will release an album and hit the road sometime later this year, but official details have yet to be announced. So far all the band has done is put up a web site as well as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube pages.
