THESE ARE THEY: 'Blood Vengeance' Video Released

March 26, 2010

"Blood Vengeance", the new video from THESE ARE THEY — the Chicago-based death metal band featuring vocalist Paul Kuhr (NOVEMBERS DOOM),guitarist Steve Nicholson (ex-NOVEMBERS DOOM),bassist Wiley Wells (EARTHEN) and drummer Sasha Horn (TRIALS) — can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Raymond Boykin, who previously helmed the NOVEMBERS DOOM video for "Rain". The video was shot in an old lodge on a lake in Antioch, Illinois in a single afternoon. "Blood Vengeance" is described by guitarist Steve Nicholson as, "The wood, the stonework and the mist truly give the feel of an early 19th century lodge. Telling a tale of Native Americans who mixed their blood with early settlers to escape removal from their homeland, and the look of the video fits the story well. The frenzied anger in the performance and the history told is a true tribute."

"Blood Vengeance" comes off THESE ARE THEY's full-length debut, "Who Linger", which was released last November via Unruly Sounds/The End Records.

Thirteen years after departing NOVEMBERS DOOM, Nicholson reunited with Kuhr in 2008 in order to create something new and fresh. With the help of Wells, along with good friends Mike LeGros (DISINTER, EARTHEN) and drummer Evan Berry, a musical style was chosen, material was written, and THESE ARE THEY recorded its debut EP.

Guitar-driven, downtuned and powerful, the material is old-school Chicago death metal with flashes of BOLT THROWER, OBITUARY, and ENTOMBED and contains more headbanging hook than you can shake a fist at.

Paying tribute to the bands that have paved the way with their greatness, THESE ARE THEY will follow with their own take on a style of death metal that to this day has no equal in hook, power, and brutality.

THESE ARE THEY is:

Paul Kuhr (vocals)
Steve Nicholson (guitar)
Justin Jurgevich (guitar)
Wiley Wells (bass)
Sasha Horn (drums)
