THINE EYES BLEED: 'We Are Back!'
August 14, 2008Canadian thrashers THINE EYES BLEED have issued the following update:
"After our fall tour last year, we took some much needed time off to sort our personal lives out. During this period everyone kinda went their separate ways and pursued other goals and interests. Johnny [Araya, bass] and James [Reid, guitar] landed guitar-teching jobs and have been on the road since. Darryl [Stephens, drums] started jamming with other bands and friends. Jeff [Phillips, guitar] and Justin [Wolfe, vocals] formed THUNDERCHRIST, a heavy stoner rock/doom band from London [Ontario, Canada]. All of this happening just as our second album is to be released. Well, our album [being] released [coincided with the] ending [of] our contract with our former record label [The End Records]. This essentially put us back to the beginning, seeing as there was no longer any support from our label. This made it impossible to tour in this day and age. What a huge kick to the balls. Just releasing our second album and not being able to support it. As you can imagine, this set us back. Present day — we are back! We have a few new tunes written and they are sure to please. We are also probably gonna be doing a few local shows in the coming months. Be ready!!! We will keep you posted!!!"
"Thine Eyes Bleed" was released in April via The End Records.
The band re-released its 2005 debut for The End Records, entitled "In the Wake of Separation", in May of 2006. The CD included the bonus track "Better off Dead" (previously available only in Japan) and the video for "Cold Victim". THINE EYES BLEED also took part in the mega-successful North American and European legs of the 2006 Unholy Alliance Tour, which featured SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MASTODON and LAMB OF GOD.
