THORNS: New Album, New Band

May 1, 2005

According to Terrorizer.com, THORNS' driving force, Snorre Ruch, has been writing new material and recruiting the right personnel for the follow-up to the band's debut. Never the one to shy away from pushing boundaries, Snorre is more likely to surround himself with jazz musicians this time around. "I am trying to put together a jazz band here," he muses. "It's still going to be in the vein of THORNS 'cos I will be writing the music, but I want to work with people that can bring diverse influences to the new record." One of the few Norwegian drummers that can withstand the pace, Hellhammer from black metal legends MAYHEM and uncategorizable ensemble, ARCTURUS, will be filling in the rhythm slot.

On a sideline, Snorre Ruch's separate project, THORNS LTD, will be blasting out during an exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York (www.whitney.org) at the end of May.
