THROWDOWN To Guest On SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO's 'Hard Files'

October 4, 2007

THROWDOWN will guest on the "Hard Files" program on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hard Attack today (Thursday, October 4) at 7:00 p.m. EST. Rebroadcasts: Fridays at noon ET, Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. ET and Sundays at 6:00 p.m. ET. Listen in as the entire band shreds new songs off its fifth release, "Venom & Tears", and plays crushing music from SEPULTURA, MACHINE HEAD, PANTERA, AS I LAY DYING, BLOODSIMPLE and more!

THROWDOWN's "Venom & Tears" sold 8,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 81 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by Mudrock, who has done seminal work with such bands as AVENGED SEVENFOLD and CHIMAIRA.

THROWDOWN frontman Dave Peters previously stated about the new CD, "We kinda went back to our roots as far as what got us into playing music, rather than sticking to what got us into hardcore. When I saw my first hardcore band live in 1992 I remember thinking, 'Whoa, this is like PANTERA without the guitar solos.' We weren't trying to consciously add metal or other elements into our songs. When we wrote 'Haymaker' (2003) that's about as bare bones and raw as it gets. Add four years later of playing and touring together to that and we've developed quite a ways with influences, execution, and fuck it, we'll play a solo if we want to too."
