THUNDERBOLT Parts Ways With Drummer

September 6, 2006

Drummer Vegard Waske has left Norwegian melodic metallers THUNDERBOLT. His official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"Due to an extremely heavy workload over the past years, I have come to the conclusion that I can not dedicate myself 100% to THUNDERBOLT anymore. Such a great band as THUNDERBOLT deserves at all times full dedication, thus I have come to the conclusion that I am going to leave THUNDERBOLT. I will join the band for a few more shows, but then it is all over. I want to thank the band and the fans for many years of touring and great fun, and I wish them all the best for the future."

THUNDERBOLT's sophomore album, "Love and Destruction", was released in May via Massacre Records. The band recently supported KING DIAMOND on a European tour and played shows opening for ex-IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno and ex-BLACK SABBATH frontman Tony Martin.

THUNDERBOLT's debut album, "Demons and Diamonds", was issued in 2003 via Massacre Records.
