TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Performs Solo In Budapest; Video Footage Available
March 30, 2010Powerhouse American vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) played a solo show on March 5, 2010 at Crazy Mama Club in Budapest, Hungary. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance, during which Owens was backed by various Hungarian metal musicians (including members of the technical death metal band KEEPER OF DREAMS on the CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED track "Ghost Town"),can be viewed below.
Owens will embark on a European solo tour in September.
The singer last summer wrapped up a short European tour as the support act for HEAVEN & HELL.
"Play My Game", the first solo album from Owens, landed at position No. 66 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Play My Game" was released via SPV/Steamhammer. The offering consists of around a dozen brand-new tracks that Owens composed himself or together with renowned friends, such as Bob Kulick, Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA),Mike Callahan (ex-EARSHOT) and John Comprix (BEYOND FEAR, RINGWORM).
