February 7, 2007

Norwegian/British hard rockers TNT have lined up more dates in Norway during the coming weeks. The group's schedule is shaping up as follows:

Mar. 09 - Jevnaker, NOR @ Untouchable Rock Club
Mar. 10 - Sauda, NOR @ Sauda Show Festival
April 07 - Karasjok, NOR @ Easter Festival
May 26 - Lillehammer, NOR @ Classic Rock Festival
Jun. 08 - Trondheim, NOR @ Trondheim Rock Festival
Jun. 30 - Jæren, NOR @ Helgaa Festival
Jul. 14 - Kvinesdal, NOR @ Kvinesdal Rock Festival
Jul. 20 - Bremanger, NOR @ Bremanger Rock Weekend

According to TNT vocalist Tony Mills, "we are recording the final three backing tracks for the [new] album now, and writing the remainder of the songs over the next week. New contenders have emerged along with some commercial ideas that will access radio relatively easily.

"Producer H.P. Gundersen has been joining me on vocals along with Ronni [Le Tekro, guitar] as well to keep variety in the sound and it works well. We seem also to have arrived at an agreement on the album title which we'll release when plans are in place for press etc.

"I'm also pleased to say that Dag Stokke turned up yesterday and was hauled into the studio to bang away on a grand piano for a track, which took him no time at all and then he was gone."

The upcoming CD, which was recorded in part in Toten, Norway, will contain the cuts "Something Special", "I Cant Go on with This Feeling", "Golden Opportunity", "Fountain of Love" and "Are You Blind", among others.

Regarding his working relationship with Le Tekro, Mills recently said, "It is a different experience working with Ronni. I should really have been working with him many years ago. He really is an inspiration to be around and it's very rare that you can disagree with him on an artistic plane, because he is always one step ahead. That's very reassuring. I don't think anyone can question his ability as a guitarist; I constantly find myself on stage with my mouth wide open, just taking it in, just getting blown away, if you like. But he's always so engrossed, like the artist that he is, that he never notices that, I'm sure. It is a real honour to work on stage with him. And indeed that goes for all the guys. I dont tend to hang around the studio when Ronni is concentrating on guitar, because no one knows his focus better then he does, and he doesn't tend to bother when I'm doing vocals either. He pops in and brings me a beer, gives me a big smile and leaves me to it. Bless him."

Mills previously stated about the new TNT material, "[It] has all the diversities that I personally had hoped for, with the balls of TNT and the elegance of QUEEN and the post-perspective of various '70s production attitudes. 'Something Special' rocks from top to bottom with complicated backing arrangements and 'I Cant Go On With This Feeling' smacks of the same color and underlying power. The album will be completed in February with the direction of the producer H.P. Gundersen, who to me seems like a modern-day Andy WarholGeorge Martin. A very talented guy who can seem to create unthinkable arrangements and follow them through to their completion with great ease. An important find. Discussions are underway with various record companies for the release of the album with some labels already committed to the project."
