TO/DIE/FOR Part Ways With Guitarist, Announce Replacement

June 13, 2005

Guitarist Juppe "J.P." Sutela has left Finnish goth-metallers TO/DIE/FOR for "personal reasons," according to a posting on the group's official web site. Replacing Juppe in the band's lineup is SOULRELIC axeman Antza Talala. "[Antza's] duties in TO/DIE/FOR won't affect his devotion for SOULRELIC or vice versa, and he will continue his path in both bands," reads a posting on SOULRELIC's web site. "Needless to say, SOULRELIC is standing behind his decision to join TO/DIE/FOR."

TO/DIE/FOR are continuing to support their latest album, "IV", available now on Spinefarm Records/Soulfood. The follow-up to 2003's "Jaded" was recorded at Sonicimage studios in Kouvola, Finland and was mixed at Finnvox studios in Helsinki with Mikko Karmila.

The current TO/DIE/FOR lineup once again features vocalist Jarno "Jape" Perätalo, who allegedly decided to reclaim the TO/DIE/FOR name for his TIAGA project after being offered a record deal by Spinefarm Records. Joining Perätalo in the new TO/DIE/FOR formation are ex-NEW DAWN FOUNDATION drummer/ex-TO/DIE/FOR drum tech Santtu Lonka, guitarist Mika "Alli" Ahtiainen, ex-H.I.M./NEW DAWN FOUNDATION keyboardist Juska Salminen, and bassist Jarkko "Josey" Strandmann (ex-NEW DAWN FOUNDATION).

Upcoming TO/DIE/FOR shows:

Jul. 03 – Istanbul, TUR @ Rock Republic Festival
Oct. 29 – Kajaani, FIN @ Rocktober Fest
