TO/DIE/FOR Part Ways With Guitarist MIKA 'ALLI' AHTIAINEN

March 2, 2006

Finnish goth-metallers TO/DIE/FOR have parted ways with guitarist Mika "Alli" Ahtiainen. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"With sad hearts, TO/DIE/FOR has had to let their guitarist Mika 'Alli' Ahtiainen go.

"After playing and touring together for years, it just became obvious that we needed to go our separate ways. This was a decision Alli and TO/DIE/FOR made together and we hope you will respect our decision.

"There is no big drama involved, nor is there anyone to blame. Sometimes things just go the way they need to go and the inevitable must be faced. What had to be done is now done and we must continue on our own paths and see where the road will take its travellers. This is not easy for anybody to comprehend or accept at this point, we know that, but let's try and not make these times any harder than they already are for anyone of us. To make things calmer and easier, TO/DIE/FOR must also state that they are NOT looking for any replacement guitarists at this point. They will proceed with the recordings of their fifth album as planned.

"TO/DIE/FOR wishes all the best to Alli, as does Alli for TO/DIE/FOR and TDF fans."

TO/DIE/FOR last year parted ways with guitarist Juppe "J.P." Sutela and replaced him with SOULRELIC axeman Antza Talala.

TO/DIE/FOR are continuing work on the follow-up to the "IV" album, available now on Spinefarm Records/Soulfood. The follow-up to 2003's "Jaded", "IV" was recorded at Sonicimage studios in Kouvola, Finland and was mixed at Finnvox studios in Helsinki with Mikko Karmila.

The current TO/DIE/FOR lineup is rounded out by vocalist Jarno "Jape" Perätalo, ex-NEW DAWN FOUNDATION drummer/ex-TO/DIE/FOR drum tech Santtu Lonka, ex-H.I.M./NEW DAWN FOUNDATION keyboardist Juska Salminen, and bassist Jarkko "Josey" Strandmann (ex-NEW DAWN FOUNDATION).
