TO MY SURPRISE Featuring SLIPKNOT Percussionist: New Song Posted Online

March 10, 2006

TO MY SURPRISE, the six-piece Iowa outfit featuring M. Shawn Crahan, better known as "Clown" in the seminal metal band SLIPKNOT, have released an e-card containing a new song entitled "Jump the Gun" at this location.

TO MY SURPRISE will be performing at this year's SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, TX. The band will make their SXSW debut at Exodus on Thursday, March 16, at 7:45 p.m. Crahan commented, "I've always wanted to play SXSW, and as of this moment in the dream, it hasn't been a reality, so it's time to fall into the black hole headfirst."

The band, who are currently unsigned, will be heading to Europe in June to play the summer festivals, and hope to tour the U.S. in the fall.

TO MY SURPRISE's self-titled debut was produced at a Los Angeles studio by the legendary Rick Rubin (SLIPKNOT, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, AUDIOSLAVE, BEASTIE BOYS) and was issued in 2003 through Roadrunner Records.

SLIPKNOT capped off an amazing two years on February 8 by winning their first Grammy Award, in the category of "Best Metal Performance", for "Before I Forget" from 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)".

SLIPKNOT has been nominated in the "Best Metal Performance" category for six consecutive years, but never took home the Grammy until now.

The band went on hiatus at the end of 2005 after nearly 18 months on the road in support of "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)".
