TO THE LIONS Signs With GOODFELLOW RECORDS
April 27, 2007Burlington, Ontario hardcore quintet TO THE LIONS has inked a deal with Goodfellow Records family. The band will release its debut album, "Baptism Of Fire", on June 19.
With members that have spent time in bands such as CONFINE, GRADE and SEVENTY EIGHT DAYS, it should come as no surprise that TO THE LIONS plays an aggressive, old-school type of hardcore full of conviction, rage and passion.
"This is a band that is close to my heart because members of the band are like brothers to me," says Goodfellow owner Chris Logan of the signing. "I have grown up in this hardcore scene alongside them, played in bands with some of them and have nothing but massive amounts of respect for them."
"The thing that really inspired us," says TO THE LIONS bassist Matt Jones, "was when Chris told us 'I'd probably be doing a lot better with the label if I put out shit I didn't like.' Through almost 50 releases he hasn't done that, though I'm sure he gets hundreds of mascara smeared demos a month, and I'm honoured to be on that list of bands he does like."
