TODAY IS THE DAY Mainman Issues Statement Regarding DEREK RODDY's Departure

March 15, 2008

TODAY IS THE DAY mainman Steve Austin has released the following statement regarding the group's split with drummer Derek Roddy (also ex-HATE ETERNAL, NILE):

"TODAY IS THE DAY tour started tonight [Friday, March 14] in Nashville. Derek stepped away from underground touring back in October. Mike Rosswog (who played drums on TODAY IS THE DAY's 'Kiss The Pig' album, and [was also] in CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN) is playing drums with us on our tour and has been rehearsing with us for months now. See ya' at the show! Check out Mike's blog (posted this morning) on ModernDrummer.com for info about the tour and Mike's drumming! Wishin' Derek the best as he is one of the best there is!"

According to Roddy, he was never officially a member of TODAY IS THE DAY and was merely "performing a service" by touring and recording with the band. His split with TODAY IS THE DAY, which wasn't officially announced until this week, was the result of an apparent financial dispute with Steve Austin.

TODAY IS THE DAY's eighth studio album, "Axis of Eden", was released last September on SuperNova Records, the label founded by Steve Austin. SuperNova Records is distributed exclusively by MRI/RED in the U.S., FAB in Canada, Cargo in Europe, and IODA for all digital distribution.
