TOMMY LEE Bassist To Tour With IMPELLITTERI
June 4, 2004Bassist Marty O'Brien (TOMMY LEE, ex-KILGORE) has been asked to play bass for the band IMPELLITTERI for their one-week tour of Japan next month. "The band is quite popular in Japan, and just recently released a new CD ['Pedal to the Metal'] over there," says Marty. "We are in rehearsals right now. The band sounds great and the tour should be fun." Confirmed dates are as follows:
Jul. 07 - Bottom Line - Nagoya, JPN
Jul. 09 - Big Cat - Osaka, JPN
Jul. 10 - Club Citta - Kawasaki, JPN
Jul. 11 - Astro Hall - Tokyo, JPN
IMPELLITTERI's follow-up to 2002's "System X", "Pedal to the Metal" marks the recording debut with the group of new vocalist Curtis Skelton (ex-SPEAK NO EVIL),who joined the band last fall. According to mainman Chris Impellitteri, the sound of the new album is "completely fresh and energetic. The music has a lot of the new Swedish metal scene vibe. It is heavy heavy! Imagine bands like FEAR FACTORY, or DISTURBED, or SOILWORK or even SLIPKNOT, with technical guitar solos."
